Dr Richa Nagar, a second year post graduate student in the Department of Public Health Dentistry at Government College of Dentistry, Indore presented a scientific paper on Extra Terrestrial Dentistry at the annual meeting of Indian Society of Dental Research held at Leela Ambience Convention Center at Shahdara, New Delhi from 17th to 19th February, 2023. Her presentation was awarded the prestigious ISDR Prof. T.R. Saraswathi Award. This award is given to the overall best scientific paper presented by the students at the Annual conference of ISDR. She was given the medal by Dr Brian O'Connell, the President of International association for Dental Research and Dr Nick Jakubovics, Editor in chief of Journal for Dental Research, the best journal in the field of Dentistry. Dr Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi and Dr S M Balaji, Secretary of IADR India Division gave a certificate of appreciation to the student.
Dr Puneet Gupta, her Guide explained that the paper is futuristic as it discusses how dentistry will be practiced when humans go out in space or settle on other planets like Mars. Dr Sandhya Jain, the Scientific Head of the institute said that students of the college are making a mark at various national and international events. Such laurels will improve the ranking of the college at national level. Dr Deshraj Jain, Principal congratulated the student for her efforts and ensured that the college will always adapt latest technologies and stay futuristic. The institute is the only dental college under the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
